The BEST Banana Bread

Spread the LOVE

Banana bread has been a traditional American comfort food starting around the 1930s.

It’s hard to believe, but the banana was not introduced to the United States until the late 1800s.

It soon started making its way into delicious deserts in the early 1900s.

Today, I will show you a recipe for moist, delicious banana bread that will be your go-to recipe.

This recipe has been in my family for years, and it never disappoints.

Every time we have a few extra ripe bananas, I make this delicious and moist banana bread.

Ripe bananas have dark spots, as you see in the photo above.

These ripe bananas are at their ultimate sweetness. Perfect for the main ingredient in this delicious banana bread.

Bananas smashed and ready for other wet ingredients.

The above 3 photos are the various stages of the masked bananas. As you see in the last photo, you want them mashed well, so they give off a lot of moisture.

Now we are ready to add the rest of our wet ingredients.

Mix all the wet ingredients well. Then we will add them to the dry ingredients.

Mix the wet and dry ingredients just until combined. DO NOT OVERMIX! 30 seconds to a minute should be enough time to mix them together.

1 cup of walnuts

The next step is optional. If you don’t like walnuts you can skip this step. Take your cup of walnuts and lightly crush them up either in a food processor or put them in a baggie and give them a few whacks with a rolling pin.

Next, add them into the batter.

Once the walnuts are thoroughly mixed into the batter.

Grease a 9″ x 5″ loaf pan. Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake for 65 minutes at 350F.
